Privacy Policy — Hela Dawasa

HelaSoft provides Hela Dawasa, a Sri Lankan calendar with holiday information, personal date notes, language choices and themes. This policy explains what stays on your device, what happens when the app downloads public holiday updates, how analytics and crash reporting work, and how to contact us about privacy.

1. Information on your device

• Personal notes: The text you save and the date it belongs to are stored in the app’s local storage. Hela Dawasa does not upload your notes to HelaSoft or to the public-data hosting service.
• Preferences: Your language and theme choices are saved locally so they can be used when you reopen the app. They are not included in holiday update requests. Your current app language and theme, including default choices, are also sent through usage analytics after settings load and when you change them, as described below.
• Public holiday information: The app saves available holiday years, versions and update-check information locally for offline use.

You do not need to create an account to use the calendar. The app does not request your GPS location or include in-app advertising. The Android app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics as described below.

2. Automatic holiday downloads

When a connection is available, Hela Dawasa automatically checks for public holiday information and corrections while the app is open or when you return to it. It downloads a public update index and, when needed, the relevant data for a year. A download request identifies the public dataset and file or year/version being requested; it does not contain your personal notes or saved language and theme choices.

These public files are served through Google Firebase Hosting. As with other internet connections, the hosting provider receives your IP address and technical request information needed to deliver the files. Google states that Firebase Hosting processes IP addresses for abuse prevention and usage analysis, and currently retains IP data for a few months. Included holiday information and previously downloaded years remain usable offline. An internet connection is needed to retrieve a year that is not stored locally or to receive later corrections.

3. Usage analytics

Hela Dawasa uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect usage analytics automatically. This helps HelaSoft understand which features are used and improve the app.

Google processes app interactions, app-instance/device identifiers, basic device and app information, and approximate location derived from network information. Events include opening holiday details, successfully creating a note, and changing language or theme. We also send your current app language and theme as Analytics user properties after saved preferences load and whenever they change. This helps us compare usage across languages and themes, including people who keep the defaults. We do not send note text, personal note dates, holiday dates or names, your email address, or a custom account identifier through these events. Analytics collection does not request GPS permission and does not mean that we receive your precise location.

Advertising ID and Android ID (SSAID) collection are disabled in this integration, and advertising storage, advertising data use and personalized-advertising signals are disabled. Analytics still uses an app-instance identifier; disabling advertising identifiers does not make the analytics data anonymous. 4. Crash reporting and diagnostics

Hela Dawasa uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports automatically and help HelaSoft find and fix reliability problems. Reports can include technical error messages and stack traces, relevant app state, app and operating-system versions, device information, and installation/session identifiers. Google’s related Firebase Installations and Sessions services support crash reporting and app-quality measurements. Usage-analytics events may provide context about actions before an error.

We also report selected recoverable problems, such as a failed note-storage operation, using fixed technical categories. These custom reports do not attach the original storage-error message, personal note text or dates, email addresses, or a custom user identifier. We do not intentionally include personal notes in logs or diagnostic reports. Crash reporting does not require an account, and the app has no crash-reporting switch in Settings. 5. Support and feedback

If you email HelaSoft, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments or other details you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and address the issue you report. Sending a support message is optional and separate from using the calendar.

Please share only what is needed to explain the issue. Avoid including private note contents or other sensitive information in support messages or screenshots. Email is handled through the email services used by you and HelaSoft, under their own privacy and retention practices.

6. External links and service providers

The app’s guide opens a page on helasoft.lk in your browser. Visiting that page makes a separate website request, and the website hosting provider receives the connection information needed to serve it. If you follow a store or other external link, that service’s privacy practices apply to your visit.

Firebase Hosting processes public holiday download requests. Google Analytics for Firebase processes app usage data. Firebase Crashlytics processes technical crash reports and diagnostic data. App stores and your device platform may independently process information under their own terms and settings; Hela Dawasa does not send them your personal date notes.

7. Storage, retention and deletion

Your notes and preferences remain in local app storage until you change or remove them, or the app’s local data is removed. Downloaded public holiday information is cached locally and may be replaced by later updates.

• Delete a note: Open its date, tap the note to edit it, choose Delete and confirm.
• Change preferences: Open the app’s settings and choose a different language or theme.
• Remove local app data: Use your device’s app-data or app-removal controls. The available options and whether data is included in a device backup depend on your operating system and backup settings.

Hela Dawasa does not provide an account-based backup or transfer of your notes. Keep your own copy of anything important before clearing app data, uninstalling or changing devices. Removing local app data does not delete emails you have sent, request information retained by hosting providers, or analytics and diagnostic data previously received by Google.

Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal requirements. To ask about information you have sent us, or to request its correction or deletion, contact info@helasoft.lk. We may need enough information to identify your correspondence and verify the request. We cannot retrieve or delete notes held only on your device.

Analytics and diagnostic records are subject to the retention settings and processing practices of the relevant Google services. To ask about analytics or diagnostic data or raise a privacy request, email info@helasoft.lk. We may not be able to associate pseudonymous analytics records with an individual person, and we do not promise that removing the app deletes previously uploaded records.

8. Security and processing locations

Public-data updates, analytics and crash-report transmissions use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Notes and preferences are held in the app’s local storage, whose protection also depends on your device and operating-system security. Protect your device and be careful about the information you choose to save or send.

Local calendar information is processed on your device. Firebase Hosting, Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics use Google’s global infrastructure, so information associated with online requests may be processed outside Sri Lanka or your country. Email, website and app-store providers may also process information in other countries. See the relevant provider’s privacy information for details.

9. Children’s privacy

The calendar does not require an account or a date of birth. Parents or guardians who have a concern about information a child has sent to HelaSoft can contact us using the details below.

10. Changes to this policy

We will publish revisions on this page and update the date above when our privacy practices change. You can return to this policy through the app’s Information page or the HelaSoft website.
